Well, from what i understand it's not a race car. Like you said earlier in your post- it's a great street and touring car. Why would a car built for highway and city driving even *come* with brake ducts? It's total overkill for 90% of the people that buy the Viggen.
I've read of lots of people on these boards taking thier Saabs (C900, NG900 and 9-3) to track days and i don't think i've ever heard anyone having a nightmare brake problem like yours.
Now, your hoses blowing off i don't know about. Maybe they're crappy clamps, maybe you got unlucky.
