Viggen suspension differences

I thought I'd be clever and buy a Viggen rear sway bar as a replacement for the sway bar on my 2000 Aero as I'm told the viggen sway bar is 22mm versus the stock 15.5mm on mine. However the guy behind the counter suggested the Viggen rear suspension was completly different to that on my Aero and the sway bar would not be compatible. It seems strange to me that Saab would install two different suspension set ups for a vehicle which is based on the same platform. (Particularly when the VRK went straight on to my Aero without incident). Appreciate any comments, was his statement correct?
