My 1999 9-3 was manufactured in November 1998 and delivered for frist use on September 30, 1999 so it is one of the 'early' ones. That said, the head unit is a Clarion but the cable end is not the same as the round DIN plug on my old 1996 900s.
So my "Help me" question is does anybody have a pin/wire identification for the 'old' 1996 Clarion head unit and also one for the 'new' 1999 head unit. As I still have the cable that came with the 635 changer I thought I could cut the end off it and do a one-by-one wire into the 'new' plug. Not knowing anything about why the changer needs 11(??) wires, power, ground, left/right speakers, current disc, random, etc. are all signals that must go back and forth. does the 'new' headunit have different outputs??
Any help would be great for me and many others as well, I really don't want to spend $CAN600 (estimate) for a dealer supplied CD Changer IF I can force my old one to work.
