Pirelli P6000 Sport Veloce Experience?

I am getting tired of my Pirelli P6000 SV tires howling like a banshee every time I do any sort of mildly aggressive cornering. I thought it was my imagination; that maybe I was just driving too fast, but today I did a test.
Went out in my C900 with new P400s, and went through a couple test turns. I was able to handle one particular 90deg turn at 30mph. It was quick, but the tires stayed firmly planted. Came home and took the 9-3 out on the same course. Same turn, trying to take it at a smooth 30mph, and the tires gave up almost immediately as I started to turn, forcing me to let off the gas and exit the turn under 25mph.
My car is an '01 SE with around 15k on the clock. The tires appear about 1/2 worn to me. When I was test driving '02 9-3SEs with brand new P6000 SV, I remember it being pretty hard to make them squeal. Mine lose traction rather readily, often when I'm not even driving fast at all.
Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon? Perhaps these tires are good when new, but lousy as they start to wear? The P400 on my C900 are harder, lower performance tires, but it seems like they're outperforming the hell out of the P6000.
Is it possible that something could be awry suspension wise to give this result?
Cheers,
'Roo
