You really don't want to run the car hard right before shutting it off. Even with water cooling, the coolant stops circulating when the engine is shut down. The only water circulation comes from the hot turbo trying to boil the water. I agree that you don't have to wait but to play it safe..there's no reason to go full throttle after you're within a mile of your house.
