Value of GM Supplier Discount w/Incentives (long)

My company has told me that I qualify for a GM supplier discount which is good on Saab as well.
My lease is up soon, and I went in to the dealer to discuss getting an '03 Saab convertible. I did a little homework with the help of some folks on this board (thanks Mike L.) and was able to determine that the total incentives on a 5-speed, non-metallic paint car was about $5,100 off MSRP, which brings the price down to about $36,000. This along with all the other factors, including $2,200 down payment, gets you to the advertised $399/mo. lease payment for 48 months. Makes sense to me.
I wanted an automatic car with metallic paint, which adds about $1,700 to the sticker. So we worked off the above advertised deal. Once we factored in the GM supplier discount, the total discount they offered was about $5,800 (net $37,000), which includes a $500 lease loyalty that I get anyway. Therefore, my rudimentary math tells me that the "supplier discount" in this case is only an additional $200 [(5,800-500)-5,100]. According to the salesman, this price is "non-negotiable".
Can anyone explain the way the supplier discount works? If GM offers incentives to anyone off the street that reduce the price of the car down to the "supplier price", does it negate the supplier discount?
I would grateful for some assistance in understanding the above before I simply accept what the salesman is telling me.
Thanks in advance
