....There is nothing wrong w/ my '99 9-3. I love it. Usually, in our family, we've never gotten rid of a car until it was basically dead. We had a '76 Volvo until 1994. Then an '89 olds, which was just replaced this year by an '02 9-5.
I definitely can't afford to BUY the '03 9-3. So it'd be lease an '03 9-3 vs buy my '99 9-3. Now that I think about it, if I lease the '03, in 3 years I have nothing, its time to lease another car, or buy the '03. If I buy my '99 9-3, in 3 years thats it, I own it. Plus, I like the old style better than the new 9-3. After driving my folks' 9-5 Linear, my 9-3 feels somewhat unrefined, and old already....in an indearing way, I think thats part of the fun. Add to that that I'm itching to do mods, I got the sport exhaust, want to do wheels, rear sway bar, and shocks/springs. If I leased another car, I wouldn't really be able to modify it. Sure the '03 9-3 would already come w/ 17s...but half the fun is putting them on myself. To me, the only benefit I see in getting the '03 9-3 is that its a more modern, advanced car, and that it'd have a full warranty again, whereas the warranty on my '99 would be over in August.
But, my car has been good to me, I don't think I want to just give up on it. And, the thought of some stranger owning and driving my car really bothers me. I guess I'm just really attached. I'm not a typical leaser. The car is immaculate, the inspector who came to look it over was stunned, he said it was the most perfect one he had ever seen. I've been perfect with the maintainence, all synthetic, etc. I couldn't stand a stranger buyin it, not knowing how they'd treat it.
I dunno, I thought alot about it today, and thats what I reasoned.
Steve, I will see if they could possibly certify it, good tip.
Anyway, here are some pics of it :)
