I've owned both. My last car was a wrx and my current a 9'3 aero. I'm not at all certain a price difference is justified. Certainly build quality of the saab is theoretically better (although reading posts about the new 2003 9'3 developing rattles when relatively new you'd think otherwise) but mechanically the suby was head and shoulders above my 9'3. what do I prefer? speed and safety. the wrx is agile to say the very least. much lower centre of gravity coupled with awd makes for a much flatter and faster cornering experience. My black 9'3 aero, while I love it, is prone to torque steer, understeer, body flex, all things that should not really be present in a car of this value. but it hasn't yet been stolen. the suby was lifted twice and the last time was featured on the front page of a newspaper as it was used to outrun the police by the guys that used it to ram-raid a computer store. I did not want, nor got it returned.
