My 99 9-3 has the T5. After driving a couple of T7 9-3s, I noticed that the torque production down low seemed lighter in the T7. At first I though, perhaps, the refined tansmission was to blame for the inability to mash the throttle and launch the T7 with wheel spin. I defeated the TCS in the T7 so that could not be to blame. Frankly, the T7 automatic did not shift as readily to optimize torque output. Now I realize the engine management systems tune themselves based upon the driver so I assumed the cars I drove were never pushed hard enough to be trully sporty.

Anybody know if the T7 limits torque and wheel spin off the line?
