Sorry to hear about your accident. I had an accident 2 weeks ago that has also left me totally annoyed and disgusted. My '99 9-3 was hit in the left front. The damage appeared minor (snapped left front part of bumper, shattered left light, hood was slightly buckled up on the left side.) Nothing was leaking from car, i.e. radiator, etc. I was going 20 mph, the other idiot that hit me was going about 30 mph in his Mazda Protege.
Well much to my dismay and shock, the final estimate to repair the damages was $6,100. This included frame damage, replacement of bumper, left light, left wiper and motor, intercooler needed to be replaced, AC condenser, I am sure I am leaving out a few other parts. But basically I was really surprised at the amount of damage considering the speed of both vehicles and the size of the other vehicle that hit me (which is half the size of my car). What if I had been hit by an SUV that was going faster? You can be assured that the damages would be a lot higher. Can't say I am really impressed with the cost to fix this type of accident whic appeared minor to me. So my advice would be to prepare yourself for the fact that there may be more damage than what appears now. Try and find a body shop that specializes in SAABs (that is what I did, I live in MA, otherwise I would refer you to the same body shop). Good luck and believe me, I share your pain - I still do not have my car back, it has been a week and a half so far and it looks like they will have it for another week. Meanwhile I have a Pontiac Grand Am - oh yeah!
