but more of a "you have a great car, stop worrying" supportive statement.
The BMW isn't really even a market competitor to the SAAB (in hardtop form). No good can come from those comparisons.
And the resale value comparison is suspect anyway. First, it's edmunds data, which sometimes is good and sometimes not. Second, the difference is $500, which isn't significant. Third, the data doesn't support any broad claims of BMW vs SAAB, but just this buyer's local situation with a specific 325 (optioned how???) and a 9-3. BMW offers deals on 325s all the time. Right now there is a deal on the 325ix, I think.
It's an argument that is so hard to justify in a broad sense that it made me wonder if the author was having some buyer's remorse, so I thought I would offer some support. The SAAB is a terrific car. I love mine, even with the blind spot the size of Rhode Island. ;-)
btw, I don't think the argument can be supported in a broad sense the other way either (BMW having higher resale value than SAAB).
