Low Turbo Pressure (Kind of Long)

Here's the story. I have a base 2000 9-3 conv. with 61K. At about 54K the Direct Ignition Cassette caused a check engine light. My dealer replaced the cassette free of charge. They wrote it off to goodwill. Yeah!! Anyway, before the new cassette, my turbo boost gauge indicator went right to the edge of, but not into the red. I had test driven other Saabs that went into the red. I asked about this and they said it wasn't supposed to go into the red. I was dubious, but I could feel the boost so it wasn't a big deal. After the new cassette, the indicator would only go about halfway into the yellow. And in the last couple of days, it wont go into the yellow at all. When I hit the gas, it seem like it starts to spool up and then about 3000 RPM it hits a wall. The car drives fine. I have had the occassional white smoke at startup usually on warm days. Does anyone have any ideas on this? Can I drive the car without ruining the engine? I have had NO check engine light or any other indicator that anything is wrong. One more thing. I haven't had the 60K service done because the closest dealer is 120 miles away. Other than that, service is up to date. All help is appreciated.
