when i was putting my amp in, i was having a ton of trouble finding a place to run the wire to the battery...i had the passenger and drivers side kick panels and the underside of the dash out and could find nothing...i had my arm up inside the area right behind the brake and gas pedals, suddenly i felt a thin rubber plug about the size of a baseball, i easly pushed it out and had a perfect place to run the wire...it wasn't easy to find but it is there..i would reccomend covering the hole back up with duct tape from the inside, just incase....
that wire you mentioned, its kind of small to power an aftermarket amp, i used 8 gauge wire for my JBL 4 channel amp...i considered using that red wire for my amp turn on, but ended up using the 15v coming off the head unit, it worked fine.... as for the doors, i have the woofers from a JBL componet set...the external crossover provides the low end frequencies...i didn't use the tweeters from the componet set i bought because they were WAY to bright and harsh...i opted for 32.5 Infinity Kappa's in the dash...
as for the 6x9's in the back...i mounted them on the underside of the mounting plate, the Blaupunkt pair i had came with a spacer ring for this...there is much less vibration now than when i had them mounted from the top....
45 dollars on the preamp cable..ouch.... I went with a 5 pin din cable and a soldering gun for much less
