Well, I'm a SAABer of just 1.5 mos. Buying new I thought of a WRX wagonette. Or a turbo-ed PT Cruiser, with a nice billet grill so it would look (tastefully) a bit different from all the others on the road. But got a used SAAB for about half the price of either, and preserved my love of hatchbacks. Friend of mine just bought a Murano -- too huge for my tastes and I wouldn't think it any faster than a base or mid-range SAAB but a real sharp car (or whatever it is). For a closet smoker, I'd look for a little british car that's had an engine with 6 or 8 cyls dropped into it, or even a rotary. Goodness, if you want just fun and fast, why not a used Corvette of semi-recent vintage, or one from before the dog years of federal regs. New and just for fun, I wouldn't be able to pass up the Works Mini. - Tom
