It is the front sensor. Find the connector for it, probably up near the thermostat. Unplug it and measure the ohms across the two wires that are the same color. This will be for the senor's heater. If an open circuit, the sensor is bad or a wire damaged. If you get a resistance reading, unplug and compare to that of the other sensor for reference.
If the sensor appears to have a resonable heater resistance, you need to find out if the senor is getting power when starting a cold engine. Start a cold engine with the connector open and check for voltage at the harness side of the connector. Then shutdown and make the connector.
The fact that you don't get adaption errors indicates that the sensor is working ok when hot from the exhaust flow. It still might be a good idea to check that the sensor base is grounded buy measuring ohms from the sensor base to a good known ground. It gets its signal ground via the exhaust.
