15" will fit the Linear and the steel wheel package that Tire Rack/ Dean suggests will work. I've already checked that the 15" steel wheels that I used to use on my wife's '97 900 fit on my 2003 9-3 Linear with sport suspension. See the Free Classifieds for these rims
because....
They looked really puny and given that the rims will be on from late November through April it just makes you cry to see your car reduced to looking like a base Corolla for that long. So I picked up some gorgeous and robust 16" ASA EM9 rims on e-bay, ordered some 215/55 R16 Alpin tires from Green diamond tires and voila, a stylish ride for the winter. The Green Diamond tires are retreads with carbide granules all the way through them that make them ideal for snow and ice. From the tests I've seen they are 15-30% better than anything else out there in traction and cornering grip and were relatively cheap (US$84 per tire). This entire package cost about US$700 with shipping, not much different than an alloy set plus blizzaks from the Tire Rack. But better tires than anything out there and enough width to allow decent handling during the times there is no snow on the road.
I'll post opinions further later, but I have the feeling that this combo with the ESP, TCS etc on the 9-3 is going to make for an unstoppable winther vehicle. We'll be able to compare against the 15" yokahama snows on 5 spoke Ronals on my wife's '97 900.
