The 9-3ss Linear is the third SAAB in our household, but will be the last. That it is in reality a rebadged Chevy Malibu has become achingly clear. The interior plastics are cheap looking and feeling -- typical GM. The stereo is an absolute insult for a car in this price range -- I don't even use it as the tinny sound quality just gets me me aggravated and reinforces the realization that I've been "had" into paying $30k for a Malibu. With 8,000 miles on it the squeeks and rattles have already begun -- again, typical GM. While the car handles well, and is good looking, it is clear that the long term quality will also be typical GM, i.e., poor. If you want a SAAB buy a 9-5 NOW. The upcoming SAAB suv is going to be a rebadged Chevy Trailblazer, and presumably the next 9-5 will also be a rebadged GM product (Lumina?). Too bad SAAB has been reduced to peddling rebadged General Motors crap.
