Senor,
Notice how I typed, "almost a joke of a car." That generation has had many a reliablility issue. Even if one were to purchase one in excellent condition, look forward to some funky repairs.
By 1993, Saab had wonderfully perfected the 900, only to present us with something completely different. I think the Saab purist appeal had not been replaced with that 1994 900. I don't think there was much evolution in performance either, let alone looks.
The torque issue - pulling the car to the side was another unusual and disappointing characteristic of that generation.
Please don't get me wrong - I own a Saab - my second! I've owned and cared for an ol'900 and now a 9-5. I've experienced the pains of maintaining my ol'900 - that deep pain in my checkbook - and wouldn't wish the same on anyone. I tried to leave Saab after the ol'900, but couldn't.
Please don't take offense. Just take your Saab for a drive.
