Heater Box replacement experiences? Please help guys...

...I've had the air distribution knob fixed a few times while my '99 9-3 was in the warranty period. They always seemed to do the quick fix of a new knob and a relube. I last had it fixed about 2.5 mos ago, right before my warranty expired. The other day I went to turn it, and something behind the knob cracked. I have an appointement at the dealer tomorrow, and I am going to push for the full heater-box replacement as a free goodwill repair since:
a)My knob has broken 3 times, and the "quick fix" has always been done it seems. If they fixed it right the first time, I wouldn't be in this situation.
b)While I am now out of warranty, it was just fixed 2.5 months ago (a day before my warranty expired)
c)This is an extremely common problem on these 9-3's
I seem to have a good case? Also, anything I should worry about? How much of the dash must come off for the heater box replacement? It kind of scares me, I'm worried they will miss a screw here or there, or sratch the plastic, or crack something. I'm extremely anal and fussy w/ my car.
Any experiences/info/advice is greatly apprectiated,
Alex
