buy the vehicle, "This part WILL fail. Carry a spare!". Also, a spare tire is included with a car purchase because it is a part that WILL fail. Sure, there's hundreds of parts that CAN fail and leave you with a dead car. But the big difference with the DIC is that it is a high percentage failure that MOST Saab owners have experienced. Different from the random fuel pump failure that gets a few of us.
So why am I so bothered by this DIC thing? Because it's just ONE of the many annoying and costly failures I've experienced with my 2000 9-3 Saab. Right now at 69,000 miles and no warranty, here's a list of everything wrong with this crappy car;
1. CEL on
2. Water leaks through sunroof to inside of car
3. SID is defective (missing segments)
4. Air vent on driver side is inoperable
5. No cruise control
6. Cheap-ass plastic spoiler about to fall off
I guess that's about it. Geez, maybe I'm over-reacting! (Sarcasm)
I'm I wrong to expect BOTH performance AND reliability from an expensive car?
