For the input.
I personally like the car, but saw it at the Acura Dealers last nite as Wife was testing a New TSX (she bought her 900 new in '84... 80 k miles so, far but wants nothing more to do Saabs, a few too many strandings))
I thought the 9 3 was a good buy on an interesting car.. but the perf is in all honesty; underwhelming. the son's beater Saab is a rocket ship ny comparison.. and boost onset/lag is exactly the same as on the '88.. just nowhere near the Oh Boy! rush... I honestly thought there was a serious Mech problem.
That's why I posted Here.
Don't understand what the talk about smoother/earlier is about, I felt no discernable differencesin onset or 'lag' poor thing just stopped Boosting soon after starting. Brochure Babble perhaps ?
The Saab gauge is surprisingly accurate when compared to a calibrated Industrial gauge.. orange/red divider is 12psi, middle of red is 16/17, end of red is 20 psi. Engine is 'Safe' to 20, some run 25, but that's pushing the limits for daily use, I think.
Seriously suggest "modding' your 9-3 if you have one.. half the throttle is 'missing'.. it's a completly different car then :-)
