I had a water pump shaft that leaked only at low pressures. (It was an Integra but the shaft seals all work on the same general principle.) Just because it's uncommon doesn't make it impossible.
It would seal when the system heated up & pressurized itself, so it would ONLY leak when parked & cooled off. I imagine it would not have leaked if I had pressurized it cold. The weep hole from the pump shaft was visible, so it was an easy diagnosis for that car. Crusty coolant deposits on the weep hole.
