This is an interesting one, and the techs are mystified.
Occasionally, my wife or I will be driving along in our '01 Conv., and simultaneously the radio turns off, the A/C stops working, and the turn signal indicators stop working, although the exterior turn signals continue to work (we got out and checked). As we drive along, the antenna will occasionally raise and the radio will turn on again temporarily. Also, if the top is down, the ventilation display will show the temperature, the same as if the top was up.
The best part was when the driver's seat started moving on its own accord...even when the car had been turned off and the key was out of the ignition. Luckily, the techs found a faulty driver's seat switch, so that one problem has been taken care of. Otherwise, everybody is at a loss as to the source of the problem. The combination of problems makes no sense, and the techs can't find anything if it doesn't present a failed state while they have it. We even let them keep the car while we were on vacation for two weeks. You guessed it, nothing went wrong.
We aren't crazy...really. If anyone has heard of a problem like this, we will be forever in debt to you. We'll have you over for dinner. We'll do your laundry for a week. Whatever you want...within reason.
Thanks!
john
