after driving when I put the car in park and try to remove the key the lock release mechanism does not release and I cannot turn the key all the way to off and remove it. I have put the car in gear turn the key to the on position, then back to the left (to the point where the lock kicks in because it's in gear) and then put it in park, and then the lock releases and I can remove the key.

The odd thing, If I start the car and put it in gear and then put it back in park, I can turn off the key and remove it normally. I can do this all day if I'm just sitting there with the car running. However, if I put it in gear and drive, once I stop and put it into park, the previous scenario prevails. Anybody had this happen? Can the iginition swith be replaced and for how much?

I have a 2000 9-3 base with 71k miles.
