I posted a message a week or so ago about a "vent modfication" that the dealer recommended that I do. I was told that if I didn't that the turbo would overheat and blow out the seals because, according to them, the PCV valve gets clogged up and prevents proper flow oil into the turbo. They also said that the replaced a few other hoses that might become saturated with oil. They wanted to charge $200 for parts and labor for this. I took it to my Indy guy who looked at it and verified that he had changed the PCV valve on my last visit and that all other hoses looked fine and the turbo was not showing any signs of improper coolant flow, so I did not need to worry about it.
Bottom line is that I think that the dealer was trying to upsell me on some service that I did not necessarily need to have done. Anyway hope this helps. Two lessons here:
1. Never take the dealers word for gospel
2. Find a good honest Indy shop and develop a relationship with them and it'll save you a ton in the long run.
BTW-Sovereign Automotive in Atlanta metro is great for Atlantans out there.
Hope this helps someone.
