My indie installed the "RagTop Tiger 6 pt. Subframce Brace" in my convertible today and I have to admit, it is a GREAT mod! Feedback is:
1. Nearly eliminates cowl shake. Not quite as tight as the new 9-3 convertible I recently test drove but pretty close
2. Helps further reduce torque steer
3. The ride is now almost "supple". Maybe its the drastic reduction in cowl shake but the car is much more comfortable to drive around town.
4. With my current mods (adjustable Konis, Eibach springs, KIC steering brace/clamp, SAS rear sway bar, 225/45-17 tires), the handling is amazing. The steering wheel feedback has improved with the addition of the brace and the car simply feels more planted; whether driving on the highway or tearing-up local roads.
The install was fairly straightforward although you have to drill an "access hole" in the subframe in order to feed one of the bolts through. Overall, expect one hour of labor.
Jim - it's time to put this design into mass production!
Regards,
One Happy Customer!
