I've got a 2001 9-3 Viggen. I live in Minnesota, currently we are having sub zero tempatures. Today I noticed that I am not getting any air coming up through the front defrosters. I'm guessing that something has broke in the Distrubution housing. Has anyone else had any problems with this?
We had a 1999 9-5 that came up with a simular problem and the SAAB Dealer wanted $2000.00 to fix it. Of course the car had over 100,000 miles on it. There was other things that needed to be done to the car. We decided that we would take the car off the road and use the parts to fix a newer model that was dammaged. We found out last week that it looks like it too may have a problem with the distrubution housing.
It sounds like there is a $18.00 part that breaks in these?? I'm not at all happy about this. My viggen is just approcking 50K. This time around it should be covered under warrantee. However if it broke at 50K does that mean that I just throw the car away at 100K when it brakes again?
The 9-5 that we repaired has less than 40K miles on it. It isn't covered by warrantee anymore because it has a salvage title. This really sucks since this is one of the reasons that we switched cars in the first place.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what we can do? Thanks for listening.
