1000 miles/week?

I recently traded my Viggen (great car) for a 9-3SS Aero. Why? Mainly the ride quality. I miss the seats and the awesome power but the handling and ride of the Aero wins hands down. Once enough people have verified the safety of using an aftermarket ECU upgrade on the Aero engine I will do the same and it will be as fast as the Viggen if not faster. The Viggen seats are still miles better than my Aero's.
I have to question why, if you are driving that much, you would want to be driving an all-out performance car (with the increased maintenance costs in tires and brakes if nothing else) rather than something that is more of an all-around cruiser (I assume you do a bunch of highway driving). I've experienced what a hoot the Viggen can be to drive in the right conditions (smooth mountain twisties), so listen to what your heart (or right foot) tells you. If the decision is to buy a Viggen (perhaps even CPO) or to buy an SE and add a bunch of mods to try to approach Viggen performance, I'd just go for the Viggen. If you're driving 1000 miles/week how much time do you have to actually perform upgrades and maintenance on a car?
Good luck,
John
