My my my, what a lovely car. But a few things are bothering me. Perhaps you fine folks can help me out. Thanks!
1) Sometimes the driver's seat "moves" a notch. Not any movement that would be caused by the power seat motors, but as if the whole thing isn't bolted down all the way. It only happens on hard acceleration, hard braking, or hard cornering. But when it happens, I can feel the whole seat move a tiny tiny tiny tiny small minute distance in some indeterminate direction. It's also audible, sort of a muffled "click" or "notchy" sound.
2) Shifting of the 5-speed manual transmission is a little yucky sometimes, and rather frequently it doesn't want to shift into first gear, at all. Especially annoying at a just-turned-green light when I need to go, but can't get the bitch into first! And YES I am very gentle! Car has 22k miles and just had 20k service... does that include any kind of gearbox servicing? Perhaps just needs new manual transmission fluid?
3) ONLY when in reverse, and ONLY with the wheel turned in either direction, and ONLY after the car has just been started: the front suspension will make one "pop" that can be felt through the steering wheel and heard from the front end somewhere. Almost sounds like a spring adjusting itself. If I start the car and immediately go forward, as opposed to in reverse, this doesn't happen.
4) The auto-dimming mirror __*with compass*__ for the 9-3 Sport Sedan won't work in my 2002, will it? Someone say yes!!!
5) These darn Pirelli PZero Nero M+S 215/45-17 tires are nice but holy Trollhättan, they love to tramline on the freeway! Is there ANYTHING that can be done? Obviously I can't return my tires, so do I have any options? Alignment? Something? The tires are otherwise quite good... grippy and not noticeably loud.
6) There's a somewhat metallic-sounding rattle in the driver door. I am used to traditional Saab rattles but this one is different. Sometimes if I slam the door really, really hard (ouch) it goes away.
7) Can I soundproof the doors? Who will do it, a car audio place? The dealer? I am too afraid to do it myself, so don't even try.
I'm sure this is overwhelming... but any tidbits of info or advice help! Thanks again!
