Try it. You may want to put something behind it to make it support as well as form.
My Sparco Milano seat has something like the Tempurpedic foam padding. It's a lot harder than the Tempur stuff though. you mold/melt in about 1/4 inch on the Sparco at a much slower rate than you mold/melt in 2 inches on the Tempur bed. Not cheap, but I wanted for my back a quality firm sporty seat with adjustable lumbar support, and this has it.
