My vent distribution knob cracked yet AGAIN today. I was able to pop it back on, and it still works, but the sleeve on the back of it is cracked.

I've had this thing fixed 3 times under warranty, and each time the band-aid lube job was done. The last time I had it done, I told them previous lube attempts had failed, and they still did the quick lube fix.

Are dealers misinformed, or just lazy? Don't they knob about the heaterbox replacement fix? Its common knowledge around here.

Tomorrow I am calling and demanding a new heater box under SAAB goodwill assistance. My warranty is up by 7 months, but its been fixed improperly 3 times under warranty, and I also do have only 47k miles.

I want to keep this car for at least another 10 years, but sh*t like this makes me think twice. I don't want to have to worry about replacing a stupid knob every single year.

Anyway, I just needed to vent (no pun intended).

What a coincidence too, I had just read tturboboy's post on how to strengthen the knob shaft, and was planning on doing it soon to prevent this from happening.
