Thanks so much Dean, I was hoping you'd be around the computer. I will have to give up, and leave it at a tech for a week or so, when he can look at it. It's a drag with family coming in.
My experience with cracked valves is that the car will run better after it is warm, when they'd seat a little better... not worse like I am having.
I don't have a code reader, all I have is the dummy light on dash, and the SID says nothing.
I tend to think this is a spark issue, or perhaps like you suggest, a slipped timing belt, but thats hard to imagine. The belt isn't overdue for a change, changed the tensioner with it last time of course. it came on kind of slowly, over 100 miles, not like BAM and it's over, which is what I'd think would happen with the belt. unless it slipped once, then slipped again more. But it idles ok, and I'd expect it to not be able to get to correct idle rpm on a slipped belt.
Again, I'm stumped, I'm beat. it got me. I do like the new Honda Accords...
cheers,
