The upper idler pulley is mounted on the same bracket as the serp belt tensioner and upper alternator bolt. If the mount is broken, the bracket has to be replaced.
The bracket is attached to the engine with four bolts. A couple of them can be hard to reach, but all can be removed easily using a ratchet, socket, and a short extension.
The bolts which hold the tensioner and the upper alternator bolt are more difficult, and require 8-mm hex bits and some PB blaster or liquid wrench to get loose. The tensioner has to come out first, to get access to the upper alternator bolt.
The upper alternator bolt has to be removed completely. The lower alternator bolt has to be loosened to allow the alternator to pivot on the lower bolt away from the bracket, before the bracket can be taken out.
