If it were my car, I would want to make sure the engine really cannot be fixed, so I would probably pay someone to pull the head and find out just what is wrong. "no compression on ANY cylinder sounds a bit odd to me".
Assuming that the engine is really unrepairable:
You can probably buy a comparable car in good condition with around 100k miles for about the cost of a used engine and labor ($2.5-3K).
If the car is in really good shape, the body has no rust, and the interior looks nice, selling it with a blown engine is an option, probably for $700-$1k.
Parting the car can be the most profitable option, but it can be a LOT of work after the easy parts are taken off. The Saab EPC (electronic parts catalog) which you can buy on CD can be a big help. The best way to estimate how much the parts are worth is to find someone parting a car on ebay, and do a quick estimate based on what the larger parts bring (wheels, headlights and other light clusters, seats, ecu, SID, instrument panel, bumpers, etc.)
Good luck.
