5 months ago i bought my second used saab...a 2002 9-3....i love it, and then the other day, my key was smashed...the top part is broken and the components inside do not work..."key not accepted"....no i talked to the dealer and they say i need a new twice unti ($1200)....now, i'm not going to get into how rediculous that is, i think it goes without saying..anti-theft nothing, its a business move to get people to fork over $1200 for a new key....anyway, when i bought the car, it was saab certified, and it only came with on key...shouldn't it have come with 2?..i never thought to ask them, but now its a pretty big deal... i don't see why they just can't program a new key to the old twice unit...i mean obviously in this day and age of computing, it is possible to hack such a system, anything is possible in terms of that...oh yeah, i have to pay $200 additional dollars to get the car towed to the nearest saab dealership....i've read this board and i've seen posts saying that the twice unit ships with 2 keys...my dealship never mentioned that to me...i'll have to ask monday....my book of saab stories is getting thicker.....
