The door amp and speakers are for use as bass subs, so these should not be expected to be heard. And you do not want to have midrange and treble from these as the arrival times will mess things up. Also the driver will hear more from the passenger door speaker, so the L-R balance would not be right.
So what happens when you turn up the base with the new head unit?
