I have a 2000 9-3 SE HOT that I just recently purchased (private sale). I had it checked out by my car guy & inquired at the Saab dealer that has been servicing it - no major problems. It's got 42,500 miles on it - and seemed to be in very good shape.
I've had it for nearly a month, and today took it on a road trip (about 100 miles each way).
After about half hour of driving, the car started to hesitate mildly. As the trip went on, it got noticably worse, and it felt like the engine was nearly turning off & on. Eventually, I noticed that the turbo was fluctuating in correspondence with the hesitations.
There did not seem to be a strong pattern other than the correspondence of the boost guage & the hesitation - the RPM were continuous, it happened at varying speeds from 35 - 85, varying gears from 2nd to 5th, various rates of accelleration, but got bad enough at times that it felt like I was on a mechanical bull.
I am going to be scheduling a visit w/ the local Saab dealer ASAP - any ideas of what might be wrong? I need it for a much longer trip next weekend!
Thanks for the help!!
