Do you get power to the fuel pump? Posted by SWEDECAR [Email] (#112) [Profile/Gallery] (more from SWEDECAR) on Thu, 29 Sep 2005 08:10:59 In Reply to: DIC or Crank Angle Sensor Failure?, Mike, Thu, 29 Sep 2005 07:40:04 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Can you hear the fuel pump buzzing a short second after you stopped cranking the engine?
If not, it might be the CKP sensor.
Lift rear seat platform up and remove the round cover over fuel pump electrics and check for power at the black/green wire while cranking, if no power there, it might be the CKP sensor.
If you have power but don't hear the pump buzzing, the pump is bad.
The tach doesn't bounce on the cars with a CKP sensor while cranking, only on the older cars (pre 93) with Hall effect sensor.
