I actually have 2. One recently broke, it was an older ISAT 1 with the SDA2 update. The other one is a newer ISAT 2. It has the larger LCD screen, but they both do the same stuff. The ISAT 2 I got brand new from an independant in Central PA that was going out of business. I'm not sure why they bought it and never opened the package, but I was glad to get it. It set me back about $600. The older ISAT came from a friend of mine with a SAAB shop. It was broken when I got it, but a buddy of mine who works for PECO fixed it. It worked for about a month and developed another problem. I haven't messed with it since. They occasionally come up on ebay, but I wouldn't pay too much for one now. If you are serious about getting a good scan tool, I've seen used Tech 2's on ebay for under $1200. You'd still need to buy the SAAB software, but it would be a better investment than an ISAT. When the used Tech 2's come down to closer to $700 I'm going to buy one. It will happen, there are thousands of them in circulation. You've got to figure that every GM dealer has at least one or two.
Having a good scan tool makes all kinds of things 100x easier to deal with. The isat was a great investment.
