Driver's Side Window?

'01 9-3 Viggen Convertible is the subject car, but all 9-3 Convertibles from '99-'03 apply.
When I roll up my driver's side window, exit the car and shut the door, the top of the window catches on the roof and therefore doesn't seal. The window is actually on the OUTSIDE of the trim and thus rain can get in. If I want a tight seal, I have to actually come in the car through the passenger side and roll it up completely from the inside after the door's already been shut.
It's as if the window goes TOO FAR up now for some reason and is overextended.
Thoughts?
