Before you go buying anything check the connector at the back of the ACC unit.
I have a '01 9-5, which exhibited the chronic Code "06" and then Code "08". the end result of these Codes is that the temperature of the air coming out of the driver's side is irratic. The 9-5's utilize small stepper motors to position the air distribution flap and the air temperarure blending flaps - there is a total of three stepper motors on the 9-5.
The Code "06" typically indicates that the shaft thatt he stepper motor is connected to has broken or is jammed. The Cose "08" indicates that the stepper motor is pulling either too high or too low a motor current. Anyway, I replaced the stepper motor only to have the problem continue. Pulled the ACC unit out of the dash and removed the connector a the rear of the ACC. Cleaned the contacts with ether anda "Q" tip and reconnected the plug. Calibrated the ACC and the Code "08" was gone and the heat works the way it is supposed to.
Perhaps the ACC systems in the 9-3 and 9-5 are different but I could easily see that the corrosion issue on the plug contacts wouldcross model boundaries.
