Certain years Saab 9-3s (2002 for sure, probably 2000-2001 as well) are subjected to this recall. Basically, in a few months, Saab will have enough inventory to have us go to the dealership to get the DI replaced. Anybody who had theirs replaced "may" be compensated. I.e. if you brought yours off Ebay, you're probably not qualified... Since you have your old one, and if you are on the list, then technically, you should be able to just drive up to the dealership, put your old DI back, and have them "fix it".
Oh, if you find out you qualify for the recall, you don't have to wait to do what I described. (don't just bring the old DI to the dealership and ask for your money back unless you ordered your DI from the dealership and have a receipt, because they'll give all kinds of excuses like your car wasn't serviced/repaired there...)
