I should mention that the front dampers were changed too. They seem to have more compression dampening and possibly less rebound dampening than the Koni dampers I had on there. I went with KYB, believe it or not, as I needed to get my car back on the road quickly and could not source new Konis within a few hours.
I actually like the KYBs the best with the stock springs. I had used the Konis with the stock springs but it was too soft and if I adjusted the Koni rebound to stiff, all it did was pump down the springs on me and cause the car to skip over bumps etc.
Going back to my original "what if". I wonder how much the KYBs had to do with the difference. Note that I still have the Konis in the rear and definitely will keep it that way. I like being able to dial in and out the rear stiffness. The SAAB rear springs are stiff enough to handle the extra rebound one can dial in with the Koni dampers.
