Purge valve ticking almost all the time..

Together with the earlier mentioned problem of high lambda value at 2500rev/min at the MOT test I have the coal canister "purge valve" ticking almost all the time. As soon as engine temp is rising the valve starts ticking and only goes out when engine braking. Even at idle and standstill the valve ticks something like 5-7 ticks/sec. Otherwise car drives fairly OK,no hesitation or cutouts. NA 900-94 2,3L. Much in need for any info / hints, thanks. /Carl.
