I recently purchased a Bulldog Security remote starter for my 1998 Saab 900 SE Turbo and foolishly attempted to install it myself. I got some information from Bulldog's website regarding the 98's wiring schematics (http://www.directwholesale.net/diagrams/printpage.asp?ModelID=12540&MakeID=37) and for the most part it was accurate, although I have encountered a few problems that countless google searches have yielded no help for. Hopefully someone here can be a bit more help.
I got the steering column open and exposed the ignition switch without incident, located the 12V constant (red) wire, located ONE of the ignition wires (green/red) and located the brake light wire (purple). What I have been unable to locate is the OTHER ignition wire (brown/red), the starter wire (black/white 18ga), and the accessory/blower wire (brown/grey). According to the schematics on Bulldog's site, those are the colors of the wires, however, the brake wire was purple, not red, and the only black and white 18ga wire I was able to locate was not the starter, but rather the fuel pump.
If anyone has an accurate wiring schematic for the 1998 Saab 900 SE they could pass along, I would be eternally grateful.
If you feel inclined to contact me on AIM, my screenname is Lakario.
