I've only had it happen to one seat at a time, but the connectors under the seat came loose and all of a sudden, no power seats. The harnesses are pretty tight and it can be a pain in the butt to get some of the connectors plugged back in if they are indeed out, but it has happened...

Also, I know that the seats are not meant to move when the doors are closed and the ignition not turned on, or to say it another way, the doors have to be open to move the seats if the key is not in the ingition. You might also check other "ignition" power fuses to be sure one of them is not blown. I don't know where the seat controllers get ignition power from to sense this, but if that is blown, the seats might only move if the doors are open.
