2001 9-3 at 110,000 mi. Manual temp control. My a/c air vent flow started getting warm, so I bought a bottle of interdynamics R-134A + System Safe leak sealer at Advance Auto Parts. Recharge made it very cool again, but it started getting warmer again in few days. So, I figure it has a leak and take it to my trusted indy. The service advisor says their procedure is to use a vacuum pump to evacuate the system and recharge with fresch refrigerant and dye to find the leak. BUT, he claims the sealant I put in will damage their vacuum pump. He hasn't outright said they can't fix it, but he's really balking at even working on it. Anyone else had this problem? Why do they need to clear out the system before adding dye? I can't believe the over-the-counter recharge bottle essentially made the system non-repairable.
