Jacob,
If you the fuel pump does not turn when you are cranking, I doubt that your problem is the DIC. It sounds more likely that either you (or the car sitting for 6 days) tripped the fuel cut off somehow. I did had it happen to me when my wife tripped the alarm (pulling on door lock through half open window and opening door when the alarm was set) and it was never properly reset. If something like this happens, you can crank all day, but the engine computer has shut off power to the fuel pump as a security measure.
The fact that you have tested the function of the fuel pump by hot wiring it, makes this scenario even more likely. I had to disconnect the battery for 15-20 minutes to reset the engine computer before my car would fire up again. It cranked a bit longer to turn over because it had to repressurize the fuel line, but no more than 10-15 seconds for sure.
FYI, the DIC distributes spark to the plugs (among other things) and acts as the anti-knock and detonation sensor. They usually die either because heat kills the computer inside the DIC (blaze of glory accompanied by the smell of burning plastic) or one of the coils goes (runs like crap). Dying while sitting around I would say is uncommon.
Hope this helps.
