tomL ive checked all your points, and the only issue one that applies is that i do a short commute daily... and then do other short trips here and there. but then how do you explain the poor highway mpg which doesnt get better than 22-25mpg (uk measures)

i know that the front wheels need alignment!... thats next on my list, but you do you think this is the culprit, or is it just a contributor to the bad fuel consumption?

in the summer ive hit 18mpg city... and 27mpg motorway... but this was only a few times.. however overal i think i was getting 2-3mpg more in summer than now... is this relevant?.. i use variety of gas stations.. but put in 95ron shell.

ive just had an MOT emissions check....everything was normal and well within the limits... would a failing o2 sensor still pass this?

one more thing, techII picked up on a limp home gearbox code. thats because i sometimes get the check gearbox light on starting when its cold.. but re-starting clears this, and it drives normal.... is this relevant?
