1998 Saab 900 won't start when cold Posted by Andy [Email] (#759) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Andy) on Mon, 19 Feb 2007 20:23:10 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have a 1998 saab 900 2.3 liter 4 cylinder non turbo. On cold mornings (below freezing) and rarely on cool afternoons after going about 12 hours with out starting it, it starts after about 20 cranks. It sounds very fuel starved. the more i crank it the better it sounds untill on the 20th or so crank, it starts. If i give it gas during this process it dies immediately. When, after cranking many times, it starts, i let it idle for about five minutes before driving or it will fight for fuel then die. I think it might be the fuel pump. Any suggestions? please help.
